Every weekend, Phil's Dad Buck (Robert Duvall) coaches a little league side that Phil's son plays in. The problem is Buck's a very competitive man and trades his grandson to a rival team when he doesn't make the grade. Phil isn't pleased and to teach his dad a lesson takes up coaching a rival team, the Tigers, with one thing on his mind - revenge!

Phil quickly discovers his competitive streak and in the pursuit of excellence recruits two fabulous Italian boys to the team. Immediately, the Tiger's fortunes change and by the end of the season they're up against Buck and his boys for the championship. Will Phil's team succeed in grabbing the glory? Will Phil and his dad be able to bury the hatchet?
