As we moved from the last generation of home consoles to the current one, the long running and successful Colin McRae Rally series became Colin McRae DiRT. Codemasters saw the opportunity to branch this offshoot from the Colin McRae's Rally series when it became clear that racing fans had a broader range of off-road racing tastes than just the arcade-sim World Rally Championship style of the Codemaster's series. DiRT delivered a thrilling melange of off road racing gameplay styles. Colin McRae DiRT 2 delivers the same mix of racing thrills, and for the first time makes its way onto the Nintendo Wii, with a version specially coded to use a selection of Wii control methods, from the WiiMote and Nunchuk to the Wii Wheel. There's the World Tour mode for players to get their teeth into, with 40 events to beat ranging from Iceland to Japan, from London to LA. For more casual fun, there is an arcade mode, and a 20 event challenge mode. All of these can be raced in a selection of off-road vehicles ranging from the legendary Subaru Impreze WRX StTi to the awesome Cincaird Ford F150 - there's even a Hummer H3 in there too! Take on your friends with split screen four-player mode, perfect for party play racing.
