The Fighter is the real life story of boxer “Irish” Mickey Ward (Mark Wahlberg) and his trainer brother Dick Eklund (Academy Award Winner Christian Bale), chronicling the brothers’ early days on the streets of Lowell, Massechusetts, through Eklund’s battle with drugs and Ward’s eventual world championship bout in London.

It is the inspirational tale of these two brothers who against all the odds, come together to train for the historic title match that will unite their fractured family, redeem their past and, at last, give their hard-luck town what it’s been waiting for: pride.
