The fourth installment of the highly successful BOURNE series sees the return of the franchise's screenwriter, Tony Gilroy, this time stepping into the director's seat for an entry which sidelines main character Jason Bourne in order to focus on a fellow estranged assassin (Jeremy Renner). Edward Norton and Rachel Weisz co-star, with Joan Allen and Albert Finney reprising their roles from the previous films.

The Bourne Legacy
A disappointment from the beginning to the end. No relationship should have ever been given to the original Bourne movies and they should have left this as a stand alone film.
It does not link to the original films very well and things feel very loose and baggy in comparison.
Would not recommend wasting money on buy the film, but each to their own and so you may want to rent the movie first.

Bourne losing its Identity
In its own right the Bourne Legacy is an entertaining watch with tension and action by the bucket load throughout. Fans of the original trilogy should not be disappointed.
The plot is tight, tying in with the Matthew Bourne Saga, and Jeremy Renner's performance as Aaron Cross (another agent) is just as enthralling as Damon's in the first three films.
The only issue is the unneccesary spin off feel it gives, which if repeated too frequently could quickly render the franchise a bore legacy.

The Bourne Lethargy Zzzzzz
Apart from a few sparse bits of action, this film is possibly the most boring movie ever made. The orginal Bourne movies were slick, quick and full of suspense. This movie has none of that. The acting is not bad at all, but the story just lets it down so badly. I found myself wishing it was over just a third of the way through. I gritted my teeth and made it 3/4 of the way through before turning it off. Avoid.

A great action movie
This is a film entertaining in its own right, its well-acted all around and the action is great. Though its not quite up there with the previous Bourne films, it feels a bit too insular, not much is happening outside of the main characters own personal goals - expect a fun film but not one that expands on the franchise in any meaningful way.
