Two thousand years ago Alexander the Great's chief general, Parmenion, vowed revenge before he was killed at his master's orders. In the present, cop Andrew Garret goes undercover to infiltrate a gladiatorial contest called the Play which has been organised by the underworld. Garret enters as a fighter, calling himself Gladiator. Parmenion, playing the game, entices Garret to enter the Arena of Death, where he must fight the giant, Mongol.
