Director Wim Wenders accompanied musician Ry Cooder to Cuba to reunite the musicians who played on his best-selling album, 'Buena Vista Social Club'. The band were recording an album with singer Ibrahim Ferrer, and are shown in interview (talking about their lives, careers and personal philosophy), rehearsal and performance, concluding with a final, triumphant concert at Carnegie Hall.
