The second series of the acclaimed comedy hit sees rising Hollywood star Zach Braff reprising his role of the bungling medic J.D Dorian. Joining J.D. on his ward rounds amid the chaos and disorder of Sacred Heart Hospital are fellow fledging residents Elliot and Turk.
The fresh faced interns of Series 1 are embarking on the next stage of their aspiring medical careers and are now raring to go residents at Sacred Heart Hospital. However they still have lots to learn as they blunder their way through hospital life. Neurotic geek J.D. (Zach Braff), the ditzy but delightful Elliot (Sarah Chalke), wide-eyed Turk (Donald Faison) and sassy Carla (Judy Reyes) are back together for Series 2 and still making the same mistakes! Under the dubious guidance of mad mentors Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) and Dr. Kelso (Ken Jenkins), the older but not much wiser medics get themselves into even more bizarre situations, with unpredictable patients and tangled relationships.
Featuring the following episodes -
1. MY OVERKILL
Since Jordan's revelations at the end of the last series, relationships are shaky in Sacred Heart Hospital. Carla has given Turk the push, Elliot finds it hard to face J.D. at work while J.D. is desperate for Dr. Cox's attention. Eventually they all work out their differences and everything gets back to 'normal'.
2. MY NIGHTINGALE
J.D., Turk and Elliot face their responsibilities on an unsupervised night shift whilst Dr. Cox faces a dilemma when he realises his true feelings for his ex-wife Jordan. He is also asked to introduce Dr. Kelso at a social event where he receives an award from the medical board.
3. MY CASE STUDY
Dr. Kelso challenges the residents to write the best case study with the winner receiving a trip to Reno for a medical conference. J.D. rebelliously refuses to join in the competition, only to realise that his fear of failure is the real reason for not taking part. Turk misses an opportunity to request a new laser for surgery on the one day of the year that Dr. Kelso grants favours and after a few cross words, Elliot and Carla start to bond as they learn they have more in common than they first thought.
4. MY BIG MOUTH
J.D. betrays Carla's trust after she shares her innermost feelings with him. Turk is stuck in an ethical dilemma when he is chosen by Dr. Kelso to take a trip to Mexico instead of a female doctor and Elliot offers to deliver bad news to patients in order to win points with Dr. Cox.
5. MY NEW COAT
After a brief encounter with a handsome doctor, Elliot gains a risqué reputation which she isn't proud of, until her work mates start asking her for sex advice. J.D. mistakenly causes a patient to lose their sense of smell and is criticised by Dr. Cox for making yet another mistake. In defiance he discards his brand new white coat.
6. MY BIG BROTHER
J.D.'s fun and easy-going older brother comes to town and quickly charms Elliot, much to the annoyance of J.D. Then it dawns on him that he is embarrassed by his brother, once a high school success and now a bartender living with his mother. When he confronts him about it, he leaves. Turk learns a lesson in morals when he jokes about patients, but Dr. Cox reassures him that doctors make jokes about patients only to emotionally detach themselves.
