Sequel to the classic 1970 weepie 'Love Story', again starring Ryan O'Neal as lawyer Oliver Barrett. Devastated after the loss of his young wife Jenny, Oliver tries to immerse himself in his work and forget his pain. But the long hours don't help, and his inconsolable grief begins to alienate those around him, until he meets beautiful heiress Marcie Bonwit (Candice Bergen), who is willing to accept his bereavement and love him for who he is. But Oliver cannot forget his wife, and in his raw and vulnerable state is unable to let himself let go, look to the future and fall in love.
