It’s been some time coming but the latest game to flow from the fertile mind of Japanese game designing great Goichi Suda (aka Suda 51) who brought the world No More Heroes is here. Suda joins forces with Resident Evil maker Shinji Mikami in producing Shadow of the Damned. As the name suggests this is a twisted story centring on hell itself.

Be warned that Shadow of the Damned is not for the faint-hearted as it seeks to tell a psychological tale in the underworld featuring gory action in an adventure of dark meanings. The main character, demon-hunter Garcia’s girlfriend is kidnapped by evil demons. He has to rescue her. This means he has to travel to the ‘City of the Damned’. He is accompanied by an ex-demon who can transform itself into an variety of hideous and efficient weapons.

In order to win through, gamers must use the power of the light in their battles against the army of darkness. Victory can only be achieved by solving puzzles, being victorious in combat, and... by the use of terror itself.

The game features unique and fantastic environments including towns torn to shreds by demons, shadow infested forests, and grimy sewers.
