inFamous 2 (PS3)

inFamous 2 takes up the story of protagonist Cole MacGrath but places him in a whole new environment from his previous adventure facing ‘The Beast’ in Empire City. This time Cole heads off to the city of New Marias – very obviously based on New Orleans.

This third-person adventure sees by Cole using super powers as he navigates the streets and more often than not the rooftops of the urban environment.

Accompanied by his best friend and sometime comic relief character Zeke, Cole has returned to the place where the mega-weapon - the Ray Sphere – was created, only to be confronted by a mysterious organisation called the “Militia”. The Militia is lead by Bertrand. But Cole also has to deal with another band – The Corrupted, which comprises the beings who have been mutated by the power of the Ray Sphere.

The big change with inFamous 2 from its predecessor is the fact that the new title from Sucker Punch comes with a new Mission Creator. This enables the player to use any of the environments and enemies and allies available in the main game to make their own challenges. This means that the player can create stealth, combat, race and performance challenges and upload these to the PlayStation Network. What then happens is that these user-created levels will appear in-game to other players during the main game – these other players can than rate those new levels.
