Heroes – Complete Season 2
By Cory Peynado, Blockbuster.co.uk

“The sun rises on a new dawn, yet few of us realize the debt we owe to those responsible for this, to those that dwell among us, anonymous, seemingly ordinary, whom destiny brought together to repair, to heal, to save us from ourselves.”

The wait is finally over. Time to cancel every plan you had for the next few months because our beloved super but not so super (in fact kinda normal) heroes are back. It’s been a long wait but the payoff will be more than worth it. So many questions, so many mysteries, all to be laid out in full in a brand new season of Heroes.

Can I just say, 2008 has sooooo been the year for superheroes; I mean we’ve seen Iron Man do his thing, with Robert Downey Jnr donning the impenetrable suit, Hulk resurfaced to give the city another bashing, Batman is going toe-to-toe with the joker, and even Hancock didn’t do too bad a job of putting a comical spin on summer's superhero siege. A perfect time all-in-all to leap right back into Tim Kring's rather super universe.

Popping back briefly to the end of last season (those of you who haven’t seen the first season really should start there before starting season 2) it all ended at Kirby Plaza where the showdown between Sylar and Peter Petrelli took place and, shortly after, there was Peter's explosion of course, cant forget that and Hiro finds himself in 17th century Japan not knowing what’s going on.

The new season begins four months after these events. Claire Bennet and her family have relocated to Costa Verde, California. She agrees with her dad that it is essential she keep a low profile, but finds it difficult when trying to fit in with some of the students at her new school.

Peter Petrelli's mother and Hiro's father both receive death threats from the same mysterious source. Two new characters are desperately trying to make their way from their Central American home to the USA and Suresh has accepted an offer from an organization to fund his research into those with exceptional abilities.

With all of this happening, the season really does get off to a cracking start. The show has lost none of its pizzazz, none of its style and none of its exhilarating flare. The further you delve into the season, more new characters enter the fray, creating more intrigue and more amazing powers to ogle over.

With one of the largest fan followings of any show, the Heroes phenomenon is bound to continue. If you haven’t seen any of season 1 or 2 and you’ve managed to avoid any spoilers then you are one of the lucky ones. Get going.
