In Get Rich or Die Tryin’ rapper 50 Cent follows in the formidable footsteps of his musical colleague and friend Eminem by adapting his own rise to rapper stardom to the big screen. Director Jim Sheridan adds a special something to this picture giving it a fresh and engaging atmosphere.

Marcus (50 Cent) starts of life as a quiet and devoted child who loves and dotes on his mother. However after she is murdered in a drug deal that went wrong Marcus spirals out of control and heads directly down the path to ruin. He abandons school to take up drug dealing for a local king pin called Levar and his underling Majestic. After several lucrative years it all goes wrong and Marcus is thrown into jail. After seeing his high school sweetheart he decides to give up the life of crime and go straight by achieving his life long ambition of being a famous rapper. Unfortunately nothing in the world of drugs is that easy and when he gets out of jail he finds out that Majestic has other plans for him that results in an explosive confrontation that may destroy his and others lives forever.
