Kishanial (Pran), the father of three sons and leading a happy life, is a driver for Robert (Jeevan). Suddenly one day, Robert kills a person in a car accident. He asks Kishanial to take blame and assures him that he would take care of his family and support them financially. Kishanial agrees and goes to jail, but Robert forgets his promise. Eventually, Kishanial's family splits, and the three sons are separated from each other and their mother. Later, the three sons grow up to become Amar (Vinod Khanna), a Hindu police inspector, Akbar (Rishi Kapoor), a Muslim tailor's son, and Anthony (Amitabh Bachchan), an outlaw Christian who is brought up by a priest. Fate and destiny gets the three brothers to meet each other again unknowing their real relation. Later, on realization of the real story and after the reunion with their father and mother, the deadly trio takes revenge on Robert.
