Pot O' Gold - In this superb romantic musical comedy Jimmy Haskell, (Stewart), is the owner of a struggling music store whose financial predicament forces him to go into business with his uncle C.J. who can’t stand modern music. C.J. is engaged in an ongoing feud with Mom McCorkle’s boarding house next door because of the consistent noise emanating from the band of Horace Heidt, which resides there. When Jimmy falls for Molly McCorkle (Paulette Goddard), one of the band’s singers, and takes up residence at Mom McCorkle’s, his situation with both Molly and his uncle becomes precarious.
Something to Sing About - Cagney is at his best as a Manhattan bandleader who journeys to Hollywood when he is offered a contract with a studio, but he is determined to do things his way and not theirs. A classic 1930’s musical about Hollywood studio life that won an Oscar for best score.
Riders of Destiny - Singin’ Sandy Saunders (John Wayne) is an undercover government agent who discovers, while securing water rights for ranchers, that someone is stealing their water. Bad guy, James Kincaid, controls the local water supply and plans to do in the other ranchers.
