Bollywood action. Inspector Srivastav (Kader Khan) is framed by a cunning gangster, J.K. (Amrish Puri), and unable to prove his innocence, hangs himself, leaving behind his wife (Shanti), and son, Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan). When he grows up, Vijay joins the police force as an Inspector but, unlike his dad, he is corrupt and accepts bribes. But is Vijay merely playing a part? Is there any link between Vijay and the mysterious costumed vigilante 'Shahenshah', who wages a one-man war against crime at night?
