| | STRIPPERS VS. ZOMBIES! WHAT MORE COULD ANYBODY POSSIBLY WANT?
Dream pairings in movies rarely happen nowadays and when they do they hardly ever live up to their promise (remember 'Snakes On A Plane', 'Freddy vs. Jason' and those two instalments of 'Alien vs. Predator'?). Thankfully, first-time director Jason Murphy and screenwriter Tony Giordano have managed to come up with a guaranteed crowd-pleaser of a pairing (in every sense) for their horror-comedy ZOMBIES, ZOMBIES, ZOMBIES – strippers and zombies!
Coming to DVD on 6th October 2008, ZOMBIES, ZOMBIES, ZOMBIES is a little slice of B-Movie Heaven, combining1970s exploitation excesses with the gratuitous blood and gore stylings of schlockmeister Herschell Gordon Lewis (Gore Gore Girls; Blood Feast; Two Thousand Maniacs) by way of Russ Meyer (Motor Psycho; Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!; Vixen!).
Not to be confused with the remarkably similarly themed Jenna Jameson and Richard Englund starring 'Zombie Strippers', which is coincidentally released a week later (yep, you wait all your life for a Strippers and Zombies flick and two come along at the same time!), ZOMBIES, ZOMBIES, ZOMBIES certainly outdoes that particular entry in the fun stakes thanks to its endearing low-budget, devil-may-care commitment to giving horror-comedy gorehounds exactly what they want.
When an experimental cancer cure serum is accidentally added to a batch of A-grade drugs, the combination proves to be less than beneficial to the slacker responsible for the screw-up and a couple of local whores who secretly dip into his stash. Instead of getting the high they had bargained for, they find themselves transformed into ravenous and highly infectious zombies with an insatiable appetite for human flesh. And there's plenty of flesh on offer, not least in The Grindhouse Strip Club, where a small group of strippers find themselves holed up as a horde of crack whore zombies and their recent victims descend upon their sex club sanctuary. Now, the big question on the girls' lips is not where the tips are going to come from but whether or not they have the wits and the wherewithal to survive the night without becoming zombie fodder.
Starring Juliet Reeves (Automaton Tranfusion) and former Miss Oahu, Lyann Tumaneng, with Playboy models Jessica Barton and Hollie Winnard (Beauty and the Geek) and scream queen Tiffany Shepis (The Hazing; Bundy; Tromeo & Juliet), er, 'filling out' the supporting cast, ZOMBIES, ZOMBIES, ZOMBIES is a hilariously titillating gorefest of terror.
