| What the Bleep Do We Know!?
By Mal Simons, Blockbuster.co.uk
What the Bleep Do We Know!? Is a unique documentary that blends the documentary genre with romantic comedy, with drama that has become a worldwide phenomenon.
It is almost impossible to explain exactly what this film is about but suffice to say, this is one of the most brilliant and life changing movies you will ever see. The film tells us that we all have more control over our lives and who we are than you may have previously believed. From a scientific point of view, your life is purely what you perceive it to be and understanding could allow you to change your world forever.
The film introduces Amanda, played by the Academy Award winning actress Marlee Matlin), a bitter photographer who has been hurt so many times, she is practically blind to her present life. Until one day, the Universe is unlocked and the meaning of life is broken down and ‘reality’ is explained to her through comedy, drama and animation.
The first tutorial comes from a young basketball player who shows us that only by acknowledging and focusing on a physical piece of matter for instance, a basketball is what makes an object exist. Matter exists in multiple places at the same time, and it is only by looking at the matter that makes it real and solid.
The documentary then continues to talk about quantum physics taking us on a trip through the Cosmos, the brain and the smallest cells in the body.
What makes this film so watchable, is how this documentary caters for everyone. The film works on many levels. First of all, this documentary interviews the brightest people on the planet – quantum physicists, biologists and even mystics reveal how we control our daily lives. For people not interested in technobabble, the film uses animation and Amanda’s story to explain how reality works.
This is a great film that will leave you on a high. An experience that will change the way you look at the world and your own place in it. Add to your list now!
