Everyone has a show that reminds them of their childhood and for many – Ulysses 31 is that show!

Homer's ancient story of the journey Odysseus is brought into the thirty-first century with a style unique to the French and Japanese production teams who, in 1981, collaborated to produce Ulysses 31.

It’s the 31st Century. Ulysses has angered the god zeus by killing the Cyclops, and now the deity seeks a terrible revenge on him and his crew. Now lost and alone with all but his son, a mysterious alien and a (useless) robot called Nono, Ulysses must cross the universe to find the Kingdom of Hades. Then and only then, can he return home…

The series stands up when compared to modern cartoons. Granted, Ulysses 31 soon falls into a familiar formula – i.e. they usually encounter “an unknown force” of some kind. But unlike many old cartoons, Ulysses 31 is one of those shows that manages to keep each episode different enough and interesting to keep you coming back and looking for more.
