| Buckle up and hang on -- you're about to enter a garage filled with laughs in Taxi: The Complete First Season. Here's the premiere season of the popular TV sitcom that zeroes in on a ragtag collection of New York City cab drivers who ply the streets of The Big Apple -- while waiting for the day when they will find a better way to make a living. And lording over Alex (Judd Hirsch), Bobby (Jeff Conaway), Elaine (Marilu Henner), Tony (Tony Danza) John (Randall Carver) and Latka (Andy Kaufman) is the one-and-only Louie De Palma (Danny DeVito) -- the snide and surly taxi dispatcher who, from the safety of his dispatcher's cage, barks orders, hurls insults and mercilessly bullies the diverse and eccentric characters who drive for him.
Episodes featured on this DVD:
"LIKE FATHER, LIKE DAUGHTER"
In a one-time chance to catch up with the daughter he walked out on fifteen years ago, Alex (Judd Hirsch) and the gang drive a cab all the way to Miami, Florida.
"ONE-PUNCH BANTA"
Tony (Tony Danza) gets the opportunity to become a sparring partner for a middleweight boxing champion, but he may be getting more than he bargained for.
"BLIND DATE"
Alex arranges a date with the charming voice on Bobby's (Jeff Conaway) answering service, but is disappointed to meet a gruff and surly woman in person.
"BOBBY'S ACTING CAREER" After giving himself three years to break into the acting business, Bobby goes on a mad
audition spree in the hours before his own personal deadline expires.
"COME AS YOU AREN'T" Elaine (Marilu Henner) throws a party to impress her art gallery contacts, but fears
her high-class guests will discover she's a taxi driver.
"THE GREAT LINE" John (Randall Carver) uses a patented line from Tony to pick up a pretty woman at a bar, and everyone is shocked when he returns from his date a married man.
