Disaster strikes Kara’s (Helen Slater) home city when she loses the Omega Hedron, its power source that hurtles to earth and into the hands of Selena (an exceptionally horrid Faye Dunaway) and her sometimes voodoo practicing math teaching boyfriend Nigel (Peter O’Toole) who plan to use it for world domination. In a desperate mission to retrieve the power source and save her dying city, Kara heads to Earth and is transformed into… Supergirl! Fully equipped with new found super-human powers she tries to blend in by creating the identity of Linda Lee with hilarious consequences. Rampaging JCBs, love potions, demonic fairground rides and banishment to the dark recesses of the Phantom Zone, the film climaxes in an exciting showdown between Supergirl and Selena, but will Supergirl’s strength be a match for Selena’s sorcery?
