Crossword addict Barry, lazy lothario Clint, self-obsessed Annie, lovelorn Robin, the other smokers and skivers are back in the basement room where tales of failed relationships, dead-end jobs and petty jealousies circulate round the room as freely as the fag smoke.

Janet's student nephew, Dominic is shadowing Robin for a day - in the smoking room; a box of old photos dating back to 1987 brings up issues of ambition and misunderstanding; vandals break in sending everyone "vandacrackers"; a snowstorm keeps the smokers in after office hours with only a bottle of vodka (and pasta sauce as a mixer); a `no smoking' seminar goes badly awry when Lilian takes a shine to the facilitator - and Janet's champagne lunch sets in motion a series of revelations that will change the lives of more than one of the smokers forever.
