Jefferson and Kristy have been in love since high school and the story begins on their wedding day. Jefferson is not sure if he is ready for marriage, his fears are compounded by his obnoxious best friend Davis who advises him to leave Kristy at the altar. However, despite a shaky start, Jefferson takes the plunge and the young couple are joined in matrimony.

Jefferson is 100% committed to his wife, he just isn't quite ready to move on to the next step. However, under pressure from both sets of parents and their suburban lifestyle the couple begin trying for a baby.
