| Shameless, the critically acclaimed and brilliantly funny drama from the award winning writer Paul Abbott, follows the lives of The Gallagher’s, the UK’s most dysfunctional family.
From the first episode, Shameless Series 2 throws up a world of sexual adventures, triumphs, love, scams and a fair bit of crime on Manchester’s Chatsworth Estate – where wheel-less cars are the norm and the moving ones are stolen.
Frank (David Threlfall), Manchester’s favorite son and world’s worst father, embarks on a series of adventures with his remarkably well-balanced children; Fiona (Anne-Marie Duff), Lip (Jody Latham), Ian (Gerard Kearns), Carl (Rebecca Ryan), Debbie and Liam - not forgetting the seventh kid on the way with Frank’s valium-fuelled lover Sheila (Maggie O’Neill).
Shameless Series 2 follows on from the Christmas Special and sees more chaos ensue with more tales of how one extraordinary family goes about its normal everyday life. Trouble comes calling in paradise when Frank gets a job, Veronica (Maxine Peake) and Kev (Dean Lennox Kelly) foster a child and her tourrettes-suffering arsonist brother Marty (Jack Deam) gets match happy. Not to mention numerous pregnancies, shotgun weddings, unjust arrests - and a turf war over a gardening competition….
The series directors include Jonny Campell (Phoenix Nights), Peter Lydon (Murphy’s Law) and Dearbhla Walsh (EastEnders).
