Heart-wrenching drama in which a young woman, Sarah Russell (Amber Tamblyn), returns home to her family with the devastating news that she has leukemia. To make matters worse, her parents' well-intentioned attempts at being supportive are woefully misguided, and her old neighbour is less than pleased to see her. It soon emerges that Sarah was involved in some kind of tragedy years before that the community still hasn't fully come to terms with, and her sudden reemergence has opened up old wounds.
