Max is one of the worst students in the world but also captain, president and editor of clubs, societies and the schoool newspaper. Although permanently threatened with expulsion he falls for an elegant teacher named Miss Cross, then finds himself competing for her affections with a friend, Mr Blume, who is the father of two boys in his class. This is the love triangle that Max has to set about resolving.
