| A secret experiment.... a deadly virus.... a fatal mistake. Based on the wildly popular video game series, Resident Evil is an action-packed thriller starring Milla Jovovich (The Fifth Element), Michelle Rodriguez (The Fast And The Furious) and James Purefoy (A Knight's Tale) in a battle of good and evil, human versus computer, the living against the undead. Something terrible is lurking in the Hive, a vast underground genetic research facility run by the Umbrella Corporation, a faceless bio-engineering conglomerate. A deadly viral outbreak occurs, and in response, the Red Queen - a vast supercomputer that controls and monitors the Hive - seals the entire facility to contain the leak, killing all the trapped employees. Alice and Rain must lead fellow commandos to isolate the virus that has wiped out Umbrella's entire research staff. The team soon discovers, however, that the workers are...not...really...dead. They are now the ravenous, zombie-like undead, and they are prowling the Hive. One bite or scratch from an undead causes infection and worse, instant transformation into their kind...

and Rain (Michelle Rodriguez) must lead fellow commandos to isolate the virus
that has wiped out Umbrella's entire research staff.
The team soon discovers, however, that the workers are ... not ... really ...
dead. They are now the ravenous Undead, and they are prowling the Hive. One

Milla Jovovich, the
supermodel-turned-actress star of the superbly shocking new Resident Evil movie
is more than just a pretty face. Her talents are seemingly endless - alongside
her role as official voice of L'Oreal and inspiration for countless other
fashion houses, Milla has managed to pack in a critically acclaimed music album
(The Divine Comedy) and an A-list acting career taking in Million Dollar Hotel,
Fifth Element and Joan of Arc to name but a few. Oh, and she does all her own
stunts, including some pretty outlandish fight scenes - just ask Resident Evil
director Paul Anderson (Mortal Kombat, Shopping, Event Horizon) or director of
photography David Johnson, who both received black eyes during 'rehearsals'. As
Milla explains with a wry grin, "They got in my way, I'm sorry. I have a really
great punch - but unfortunately not the best control." When she's not fighting
the crew, Milla's role as Alice sees her leading a rapidly diminishing squad of
crack commandos against an army of flesh-eating zombies. The pace is relentless
and the vision of Resident Evil's chilling world is guaranteed to thrill game
fans and horror lovers alike.

BB: After a tough day's filming, how
do you spend a perfect night in?
M: Definitely staying at home
in Los Angeles. Hopefully, it's early enough for The Simpsons. Oh, and I'd have
my puppy (a miniature Maltese named Madness). Yeah, my puppy, The Simpsons and
home, that's pretty ideal.
BB: So while you're relaxing
with your puppy, what would be your ideal food or snack?
M: Well, this week I'd have to
say it's Greggs pasties, really ideal sort of meal for all parts of the day.
Breakfast, dinner, so many hours.
BB: I think you should
introduce them to the model circuit. I can see pasties going down pretty well!
M: [Laughs] They would - a lot
of these girls don't need to watch their weight!
BB: If The Simpsons wasn't on
[the horror], what would be your preferred movie?
M: Mmm, well I guess anything
by Stanley Kubrick. I'd definitely watch that, or anything by Terence Malik.
Any of the Alien movies I would definitely watch, although more the first two
than the last two. What have they done? Where are the guns?
BB: You've created a fabulous
album in The Divine Comedy, but what would you listen to on a perfect night?
M: Back when I made that
record, Kate Bush was a huge influence, Joni Mitchell, a lot of really dark
music. Now it's more of a Joni Mitchell meets Sonic Youth sound. [Laughs]
BB: Finally, for some perfect
company for your night in. Aside from Sigourney Weaver, who else are your
acting heroines?
M: Today, I think Cate
Blanchett is so spectacular. And I adore Cameron Diaz; I think she's an amazing
actress who's really grown so much in the last four or five years. Everything
she does is phenomenal.
