Michael Caine reunites with Fourth Protocol director John Mackenzie for this enjoyable edge-of-the-seater co-starring Michael Keaton. Mackenzie remains best known for helming The Long Good Friday, probably the definitive British crime flick, and his skill and experience shine through every scene of this taut, pacey thriller. Quicksand tells the twisted, twisty tale of a banker (Keaton) whose dealings with a down-and-out movie star take a distinctly life threatening turn. A cracking thriller, expertly shot and cleverly played with a memorable supporting cast, this one's definitely worth a couple of hours of your time.
