Tom Cruise and John Woo, two of the most compelling figures in the world of
film, have teamed up for "M:I-2," an action thriller that plunges
special agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) into an international crisis of
terrifying magnitude. With computer genius Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames) at his
side and a beautiful thief Nyah Hall (Thandie Newton), on his mind, Hunt races
across Australia and Spain on what seems like an impossible mission to
stop a villain before he can fulfill his own destructive mission.
Sean Ambrose (Dougray Scott), steals a deadly virus with the ability to kill
millions of people, but before he can sell it to the highest bidder he has to
contend with Hunt. Hunt recruits Nyah, Ambrose's ex-girlfriend, to infiltrate
Ambrose's camp and push him for information, but getting her in now appears
infinitely easier than getting her out!
This results in beautifully choreographed car chases, pyrotechnic explosions,
bike chases, more explosions, fist fights and yet more explosions as Cruise
proves he is still one of the best action men around.
One frantic set piece follows another in dizzying succession - the finale is
scorching high octane action with top-notch thrills, slickly-executed and state
of the art gadgetry - don't miss it!
Made with a budget of $125m, Mi-2 earned over $215m in the US and 17m in the
UK. Directed by John Woo and starring Tom Cruise this eagerly anticipated
sequel lives up to all the hype.
