Abiding by the last request of his father, a young man embarks on an adventure to the wils west as a manly rite of passage. However his preference for bicycles and poetry over horses and guns means he is ill equippd to deal with the situation he finds himself in. His mentors find him a hard man to change, until a wirlwind romance forces him to take on a jelous gunman in defence of a beautiful wonan.
