| | On the lush and tropical Hawaiian islands, a lonely little girl named Lilo adopts what she thinks is an innocent puppy. She names her new "pet" Stitch, completely unaware that he is a dangerous genetic experiment who has escaped from the alien planet Turo. Stitch's only interest in Lilo is using her as a human shield to evade the alien bounty hunters who are intent on recapturing him. In the end, it is Lilo's unwavering faith in "ohana", the Hawaiian tradition of family, that unlocks Stitch's heart and gives him the one thing he was never designed to have - the ability to care for someone else.

Lilo & Stitch follows the story
of an orphaned Hawaiian girl, Lilo, who lives with her 19 year old sister,
Nani. The two girls have been struggling to make it on their own and things
aren't going particularly well.
When Cobra Bubbles, a no-nonsense social worker, drops by for a home visit, he
finds the sisters in the middle of an argument and the house in a shambles. He
warns Nani that she has three days to prove she's an appropriate guardian for
Lilo or the situation will have to change.
In the meantime Stitch, a mischievous alien (officially known as Experiment
626) has escaped from the planet Turo and has crash-landed on Earth. Stitch is
bulletproof, fireproof and thinks faster than a super-computer. He can see in
the dark and move objects three thousand times his size. His only instinct is
to destroy everything he touches.
Posing as a small strange-looking "dog", Stitch is adopted by Lilo and leaves a
wide path of chaos in his wake, proving to be the least affectionate pet on the
planet.
But through her love, faith and unwavering belief in "Ohana" (the Hawaiian word
for "family"), Lilo helps to unlock Stitch's heart and gives him the one thing
he was never designed to have - a family.
