Driving home from college, brother and sister Trish
(Philips) and Darryl (Long) only stop arguing when a mysterious old van tries
to run them off the road. Shaken by the ordeal, the two follow the van at a
safe distance, where they witness a stetsoned stranger unloading what looks
like a bodybag down a waste pipe.
Several scenes later, the terrified siblings are being relentlessly pursued by
a hat-and-cloaked killer with an unbelievable truth hidden up his sleeves.
With a young and basically unknown cast and a lowish budget, Jeepers Creepers
came from nowhere and made a big splash at the US box office last year. With
its fusion of creepy, jump-out-of-your-seat scares, intriguing plot twists, and
copious schlock comedy carnage, Jeepers Creepers offers up enough weirdness and
wonder to merit some serious attention.
