World War II battle/ action classic, paying homage to US Marine Corps operations in the Pacific. Richard Widmark leads an all-star cast of leathernecks – including Jack Palance, Robert Wagner, Karl Malden, Richard Boone and Jack Webb, into battle on a heavily-fortified enemy island. Their objective is a Japanese rocket site in the island’s interior and this action-packed story follows the squad as they pick their way through enemy-infested jungles. In the process, the senior officer (Widmark) is transformed from a former school teacher into a combat-hardened leader, and his disparate squad of men is forged into a cohesive fighting unit. Halls Of Montezuma was directed by Lewis Milestone, who won an Academy Award® (Best Director, 1930) for All Quiet On The Western Front.
