| When Santiago Munez (Kuno Becker) crosses the Mexican border into America he has but two possessions, an old football and a tattered picture of the World Cup. He dreams of football and of one day playing football at an international level. He believes he can do it, unfortunately his father does not, his father believes there are two types of people in the world, the people who are rich and the people who serve the rich, and he does not believe anything will change this.
However one day a former footballer and scout Glen Foy spots Munez at a local match and sees a brave, skilful and committed player, exactly what Premiership team Newcastle are looking for. Foy gets Munez on a plane and before he knows it he is among some of the worlds best players at Newcastle football club. However he finds it is to be no easy ride as he faces the trials of wet muddy fields, bitter winds, crunching blows from team-mates while training along with personal hardship, injuries and the glamorous temptations of a professional footballers life. All these he must conquer if he is to reach his ultimate Goal!
