Bobby Hughes (Matt Dillon) is a hip young guy with one major downfall, drugs. Married to another junkie, Diane, Bobby gets his money to feed his habit by knocking off drugstores. Bobby and Diane enlist two others to join them, Rick (James LeGros) another junkie, and a young runaway Nadine (Heather Graham).

Bobby finds ripping off stores easy and loves the thrill almost as much as the rush of dope. Using Rick and Nadine as decoys, they distract the shopkeepers while Bobby takes the real risks. As a gang they do very well and live the highlife but it's only a matter of time before their all-time high comes crashing down.
