On a desolate shore searching for driftwood, Sarah discovers a man lying on the water's edge in need of help. Back in her wooden cottage she tries to find out where he has come from and how he came to be on the shore. She soon becomes obsessed with her handsome find and tries to convince him that they are the only two people on a remote island reached by a supply boat every three months...
