Mike arrives home to find Susan being held hostage by a gun-toting Zach. Susan's actions bring the situation to an explosive climax during which Zach escapes. Wisteria Lane's newest neighbour Betty Applewhite harbours a secret in her basement. Bree has her hands full with Rex's overbearing mother, who has arrived for his funeral. Lynette's multitasking abilities help her re-enter the working world, despite the reservations of her new boss, Nina. And Gabrielle, feeling guilty about her affair, begins visiting her husband in jail. But will her visits make life on the inside even tougher for Carlos?

EPISODE 2 - YOU COULD DRIVE A PERSON CRAZY

Susan is less than pleased when she finds out who Edie's new boyfriend is. Lynette hatches a plan that inspires Tom to take housekeeping a bit more seriously. Bree is embarrassed by her mother-in-law's emotional outbursts, but may soon have larger problems thanks to Rex's suspicious doctor. Gabrielle must perform some unusual errands on Carlos' behalf, and new neighbour Betty has trouble explaining some strange noises coming from her basement.

EPISODE 3 - YOU'LL NEVER GET AWAY FROM ME

Bree insists on taking a polygraph test when she learns that she is a suspect in Rex's death but is blindsided by an unexpected question. Lynette's new boss complicates her plans to accompany Parker to his first day of kindergarten. Susan comes to terms with Edie's new role in Julie's life. Betty is forced to turn down Susan's request for piano lessons, as she is having a crisis of her own. And Gabrielle reconnects with John to find closure, or could it possibly lead to a rekindling of their affair?

EPISODE 4 - MY HEART BELONGS TO DADDY

Lynette feels guilty when she learns that Parker has invented an imaginary friend in her absence. Susan agrees to help Mike in his search for Zach, but is conflicted when she actually finds him. Gabrielle's arguments with her lawyer over conjugal visits inadvertently cause a near riot at the prison. Andrew is unhappy that Bree is dating George so soon after Rex's death, which causes George to think of a scheme to get rid of Andrew.
