Title Information
Owen and Aniston shine in this edgy action thriller. Derailed is a tale of morality exploring what happens to those who lie and cheat against their closest and most loved. With such intense and powerful scenes the film could almost leave you feeling that the only person you can ever really trust is yourself.
Starting with a liaison on a commuter train in Chicago Charles (Owen) and Lucinda (Aniston) the two immediately click and connect. Charles, spurred on by feeling stretched and worn out by his marriage, is drawn to the freedom and excitement that Lucinda offers him. The first meeting is soon followed by a lunch date that is proceeded by dinner and drinks. The pair get on better and better and soon make a rendezvous in a sleazy motel. However no sooner have the pair begun to rip each other’s clothes off that a twisted thief, Philippe LaRoche, breaks in on the two with more than simply taking their money on his mind. Due to the adulterous nature of their liaison they are helpless to go to the police, and LaRoche knows this. He blackmails them as he threatens both their and their family’s lives, however Charles can only be pushed so far. But will choosing momentary physical gratification over what he truly holds dear mean that Charles has to pay a heavier price than blackmail?
