CSI: Season 7 – Part 1
By Cory Peynado, Blockbuster.co.uk

The Emmy-Award winning show returns for a seventh season and for the fans this has not come a moment too soon. Now I myself haven’t seen a lot of the C.S.I seasons up to now but I know about the huge buzz that surrounds it and I know that its fan base is just huge but I’ve not really dived into it as a show, perhaps because I felt I was way too far behind. After now watching season 7, I’ve realised that diving straight in can make things even more enjoyable.

We know there are a lot shows like this one, but C.S.I is certainly the current headmaster. The show has developed and evolved so that its not just a follow the clues affair, it actually dares to delve into the lives of the investigators on an emotional and personal level. One of the most popular episodes in fact was a Tarantino directed episode in a previous season where one of the investigators was buried alive. Now that’s TV!

Season 7 doesn’t slack off in comparison to earlier seasons, it seems like they’ve attempted to push things even further making it tougher and smarter than ever before. Grissom and Sara's relationship is still a huge talking point amongst fans and in this season the heat is turned up a notch, will they ever just get it on and be done with it? You’ll have to watch and find out.

Catherine and her daughter start to become more and more entangled in her father's not so legal business and we get to find out how she decides to deal with this. Greg is a victim of a vicious gang beating and Grissom goes up against one of the most intricate serial killers he has ever faced.

As I mentioned before, I dived straight into this season without really seeing much of the shows history or previous seasons but I was still able to fully enjoy this season for what it was. The detail and precision used by the team to stay ahead of their foes is really impressive. I can see why so many people have recommended it to me in the past and it’s a shame that I’ve been missing out.

So with some new characters on board and new relationships unfolding this season is an absolute must for fans and newbies of the C.S.I world. Don’t be put off by the fact that this is one of about a billion cop shows out there; this is the one that gets talked about the most!
