Confetti

“Had enough? Your dreams are enough”
Three couples battle it out in a competition to find the most original wedding in Confetti, one of the funniest ensemble comedies we’ve seen in a long while.
The editors of Confetti, Vivienne (
Felicity Montagu) and Antoni (
Jimmy Carr), a magazine covering all the latest wedding trends run a competition to find the most original wedding possible. Deciding on three finalists – Matt (
Martin Freeman) and Sam (
Jessica Stevenson), a shy couple wishing to have an MGM musical themed wedding, Josef (
Stephen Mangan) and Isabelle (Meredith MacNeill) who are pro-tennis players, looking to have a tennis themed wedding and finally Michael (
Robert Webb) and Joanna (
Olivia Colman), a naturist couple who want to have a wedding in the nude, although Confetti’s editors would prefer that they be fully clothed.
The film follows the three couples as they compete with one another, the Confetti editors as they try to keep the naturists…clothed; and their wedding planners as they try to cope with family disputes, arguments and bring it all together for the big day.
All the actors are fantastic at creating their characters. The storyline is largely improvised by the cast and this makes it feel much more real. The style is very similar to The Office and Extras so in addition to the absurd plot, this is also a film with a heart.
Overall a great British film with a quality cast, great improvised dialogue and effective delivery. At times funny, at other times very touching – this film has an honesty hard to find in most movies and is definitely one to watch. Add to your list now!
