The story of Alferd Packer who, in 1874, lead a group of prospectors into the Colorado Rockies in search of gold. He returned home alone, and months later the partly eaten bodies of his companions were found near Lake Fort Gunnison. Packer was subsequently convicted of cannibalism and this film re-investigates the crime in the form of a musical comedy.
