John Buckingham
John Buckingham (Ben Chaplin) is a mild-mannered banker who has never been
lucky in love. Fed up with waiting for the right girl to come along, John takes
a chance on a Russian mail-order bride arranged via the Internet.
His Internet love connection is the enigmatic Nadia (Nicole Kidman). When
Nadia's Russian 'cousins', Yuri (Mathieu Kassovitz) and Alexei (Vincent
Cassell), turn up unexpectedly to celebrate her birthday, John's routine
existence is blown out of the water as he finds himself drawn into an adventure
that he didn't ask for, but that might be exactly what he needs. Forced into
robbing his own bank to save Nadia's life, John discovers that everyone
involved has a few surprises up their sleeves, including himself.
