This lush, Russian tale follows Jane (Ormond), a young American woman who is travelling to Moscow. On the way she meets a young cadet Andrey Tolstoy with whom she shares a passion for music. She happens to be visiting the cadet's own military Academy in order seduce General Radlov, who falls for Jane and soon pens a marriage proposal. He asks cadet Tolstoy to make his proposal known to Jane, and as he does so feels he must express his own feelings for her and they inevitably fall in love. Featuring Richard Harris and Oleg Menshikov, THE BARBER OF SIBERIA is a ravishing, old-fashioned and snowswept story, a visual delight.
