Its been a year since Jim (Biggs), Oz (Klein), Kevin
(Nicholas) and Finch (Thomas) went their separate ways to college but, now
theyve found themselves with a summer to spend together, Kevin suggests they
rent a beach house. So off they set, moronic Stifler (Sean William Scott) in
tow, for the requisite sand, sea - and sex with nubile young college fillies.
Of course, fate has other plans for our hapless youngsters...

A monster hit Stateside, American Pie 2 re-teams
every member of the original films cast for a second and equally bawdy outing
in teenage land. And this is why American Pie 2 is such a joy; its like coming
back to join old friends. Not that much has changed. Jim and the gang are still
fumbling around the opposite sex, falling headfirst into disaster, and cracking
crude and often hilarious gross-out gags. Its a hilarious rites-of-passage with
the directorial finger firmly on the comedy button and return-to-form
performances from Biggs and co.
Despite the tail-end of the original flick suggesting the characters had moved
on, American Pie 2 proves theyre more or less back where they started - and a
year older with it, desperate to catch a whiff of the good old days in their
quest for sexual thrills. Finch is still obsessing about Stiflers mum; Jim is
panicking about an upcoming sexual encounter with the gorgeous Nadia. Cue
mayhem aplenty as, coping with a myriad of twisted yet hilarious scenarios, our
boys and girls discover more about themselves than ever before.
Better than it has any right to be, American Pie 2 is a hugely enjoyably teen
comedy that fully lives up to its predecessors pie-shagging reputation,
delivering a laughfest of cringeworthy situations and amusing sexual tomfoolery
with unrelenting zest. Highly enjoyable.
