Here's what our members thought of this title. 5 stars = very good, 1 star = poor.
 | | Frankie Muniz reprises his role as teenage CIA agent Cody Banks in this sequel directed
by Kevin Allen (The Big Tease, Twin Town). Cody's parents believe that he is having a blissful
summer as a helper at a sleep-away camp. Little do they know that Kamp Woody is really a
secret CIA training camp for kids, and that their sixteen year old son has been sent to
London to track down the camp's director, Diaz (Keith Allen), a demoted CIA agent who
has stolen top-secret mind control Software from the US Government.
Diaz is planning to join forces with British aristocrat Lord Duncan Kenworth (James Faulkner) to
control the actions of world leaders (including the US President and British Prime Minister
Tony Blair). With this power, the two men will have the power to rule the world.
Arriving in London, Cody meets up with Derek (Anthony Anderson), a demoted CIA agent who
is assigned to assist Cody during his time in London. Derek briefs Cody in a CIA lab hidden
inside the London Dungeon, and provides him with an array of cool gadgets such as explosive
Mentos (a mint sweet), a retainer (mouth brace) that doubles as a tracking device and a
special IPOD. The two agents drive around London in a fully loaded black cab that has been
equipped with the latest CIA hardware as well as an awesome sound system!
Going undercover at Lord Duncan Kenworth's school for musically gifted children, Cody
poses as a gifted student who plays the Clarinet while Derek gets a job as the school
Chef, a specialist in southern cuisine. The CIA believed that this was the most logical
way for the agency to get someone “inside” and therefore close to Lord Kenworth. Unfortunately,
Cody cannot play the Clarinet while Derek's cooking knowledge comes from daytime TV cooking
shows(!) The agents do have some help however, in the form of British agent Emily from
Scotland Yard's Teen Training Division who is also undercover at the school. Together
the three agents work together to thwart Lord Kenworth's dastardly plan. Luckily the
two American agents have help in the form of Emily (S-Club 7's Hannah Spearitt), a
British secret agent from Scotland Yard's Teen Training Division who is also undercover
at the school. Together, the three agents work together to thwart Lord Kenworth's dastardly plan.
Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London is an action packed movie in the tradition of
Spy Kids which has a story that both kids and adults can enjoy. Filmed on location in
the UK, the movie takes us on a wild ride past many of London's famous landmarks
including Parliament Square, the London Eye and Buckingham Palace. Malcolm in the
Middle star Frankie Muniz is believable as Cody Banks while Anthony Anderson
(Kangaroo Jack, Me, Myself and Irene)
is great as Derek. The highlight of the film however
would have to be the G7 conference itself where World Leaders dance to “War…what is
it good for?!” and include a fantastic look(and sound!) alike of Tony Blair. At first
glance, it seemed like the Prime Minister actually took part in the movie!
Great fun for anyone who enjoyed the first Agent Cody Banks movie.

18 Year old Frankie Muniz, star of TV's Malcolm In The Middle talks to Blockbuster Online
about the DVD release of his new film, Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London...
Now, spy movies make great movies for DVDs. What is it about Cody Banks to you that makes
it a great movie for DVD?
“
Well, Cody Banks is a great DVD movie because of all the behind-the-scenes stuff that
they have on there. The first had loads of that sort of thing all about the music
and the action and the fighting and I'm sure it will be the same for this one. It's
going to be awesome.
”
|
Did you enjoy working with Anthony Anderson?
“
Anthony Anderson is the most hilarious man in the history of the world. He always
ad-libs and always adds what he thinks should be in the scene at any given time. I had
a hard time keeping a straight face and not cracking up at him when he's being Anthony. I'm
sure there'll be a lot of lines that he said that are hilarious but they just couldn't
use. And there's a lot of scenes that weren't put into the movie that will be on the DVD.
”
|
Now he can get kind of crazy at times. Are there some scenes on the DVD that
weren't used because they weren't suitable for a younger audience?
“
(LAUGH) Probably 95 percent of the time that Anthony is talking it isn't PG. But
he's great, (LAUGH) he's so funny.
”
|
Now, Cody Banks seems like a type of kid who would be a DVD fanatic. What would
Cody be looking forward to the most on this DVD?
“
I think Cody will be searching for the hidden stuff that nobody really knows
about and you don't know, how to get to unless you figure out. I think he'd be into that. And
he'd be into all the extra features on the Collector's Edition because that's what's great
about DVDs - the deleted scenes. And all the commentary and you don't get on VHS.
”
|
Is Frankie a big DVD buff? And what makes this film, this DVD better than the first one?
“
I am a big DVD guy and I think this movie is great because of the comedy. And although
I thought the first one was cool, this one is even funnier. Having the extras and
deleted scenes really add to this movie.
”
|
How did you like shooting in London? Talk about shooting on location there.
“
Well, that's one great thing about filming a movie is that you do get to film
it on location. Filming in London added so much to this movie - it was a lot of fun.
It was very different, as well. I expected it to be exactly like the U.S., I guess, because
we all speak English. It was very different for me, but it was wonderful seeing
all the new places. We were filming in all the big touristy spots, so I got to
see it all. I had a great time.

Coming into the public eye as a member of pop band S Club 7, Hannah Spearitt has
crossed over from music to movies with her parts in the S Club movie Seeing Double
and now in Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London.
Were you a fan of the first Agent Cody Banks film?
“
Yeah I thought the first film was brilliant and so I really wanted to be part
of the sequel. It is action-packed with some really funny lines. I think Frankie
Muniz is a great actor.
”
|
What did you like best about playing Emily?
“
Becoming 16 again. She is full of fun, smart and got some really cool martial arts
moves. When you first meet Emily, she's basically a normal girl doing normal things.
Later on in the film, however, you discover there's more to her than meets the eye.
”
|
What was it like to work with Frankie?
“
Frankie was a lovely guy to be around. Frankie's very down to earth, really
professional and really fun to work with.
”
|
What was the best thing about filming Destination London?
“
It was great showing Frankie the sites of London and jetsetting around the city.
”
|
What was the worst thing?
“
Trying to film the black cab scene at rush hour on a Friday – we didn't move!
”
|
What's your favourite thing about London?
“
There's so much variety of things to do and see and lots of cool people. I've
made some good friends here.
”
|
How did you learn Emily's martial arts moves?
“
I was taught by the stunt co-ordinator who showed me some really cool
stuff. But I didn't find it too hard as I am pretty flexible thanks to all
the dance moves I had to learn for the S Club routines.
”
|
Did you get to do any cool stunts while you were filming the movie?
“
We did some cool car chases which were fun to film and the all the
fight scenes when I do my high kick etc.
”
|
Did anyone make any really funny goofs?
“
When I did the fighting scene my trousers split on my bottom – whoops!
”
|
What was it like, filming without the other S Clubbers?
“
Well, we didn't have to do as many re-takes but I missed the laughs I had with the girls.
”
|
If you were a spy, which gadgets would you like to have?
“
I would like to have a Segway Human Transporter to cruise around town on and spy on people!
”
|
If you could be in any other spy movie which would you pick?
“
Austin Powers because I think he is absolutely hilarious and I love the
groovy clothes! I can imagine it would be a laugh a minute working with Mike Myers as well.
”
|
Are you going to be in any more Hollywood movies?
“
'Seed of Chucky' is coming out at Halloween.
”
|
Which actors would you most like to work with?
“
Oh there are so many talented actors that I would like to work
with including Jodie Foster, Christina Ricci, Kate Hudson, Johnny Depp, Matt Le Blanc.
