All DVDs available to rent from Blockbuster.co.uk are either Region 2 or Region 0. These should work in any DVD player
bought in the United Kingdom.

Blu-ray 
|

Developed by Sony, this is the format supported by the Sony Playstation 3 and standalone Blu-ray players. Blu-ray offers
higher definition picture and sound than a standard DVD however Blu-ray discs will not work in normal DVD players or in
HD-DVD players.

HD-DVD 
|
Backed by the DVD forum, this is the format that can be played in standalone HD-DVD players and Microsoft’s Xbox 360
HD-DVD drive add on*. HD-DVD offers higher definition picture and sound than a standard DVD however HD-DVD discs will
not work in normal DVD players or in Blu-ray players.
*Xbox 360 standalone HD DVD players are sold separately to the Xbox 360 console

Because of the way HD-DVDs are produced in layers, there are certain discs that have both the DVD version of the film (playable
in a normal DVD player) as well as the HD DVD version of the film (playable only in a compatible HD-DVD player). If you only have
a DVD player, you will be able to play these discs in your machine.
