| | The Graduate is the satirical coming-of-age comedy that became an emotional iconic film for an entire generation. With a budget of only 3 million this inventive and seductive movie grossed over 100 million worldwide.
In the mid-1960s, Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman), a confused college graduate, is becoming tired of family, friends, and associates pulling him in different directions just days after receiving his degree. Seduced by Mrs. Robinson (Anne Bancroft), an older friend of the family, Ben carries on an affair with the married woman even as he starts to fall for her daughter, Elaine (Katharine Ross).
However, Ben and Elaine's attempts at romance and love are threatened by the spiteful ways of the older Mrs. Robinson. She proceeds to hastily arrange Elaine's marriage… to someone else. This leads up to one of the most memorable endings in cinema history.
