| March of the Penguins
By Mal Simons, Blockbuster.co.uk
Who knew we’d care so much about such little bundles of fur!
March of the Penguins is an extraordinary film by French filmmakers and narrated by the brilliant Morgan Freeman. With amazing cinematography, a powerful true story and at times funny, moving and sometimes downright traumatic… The March of the Penguins is an Oscar winning movie that will stay with you forever.
Penguins, little bundles of fur that you may have seen at the zoo… who knew they live such an amazing and truly unique existence? Even if you haven’t been a fan of animal documentaries, this film is so different, it will change your mind about documentaries… and penguins…forever.
Each year, from all over the frozen continent of Antarctica, Emperor Penguins leave their safe and comfortable ocean habitat and start a journey that has gone on for at least a millennia. Braving up to minus 82 degree temperatures, the Penguins march across the barren wasteland and come together in a location too barren for life to logically exist, however the penguins manage it – and they manage it in style.
The Penguins march for up to 70 miles in order to mate, along the way, the forever changing glaciers of Antartica may have changed location however the Penguins are rarely confused for more than a few short minutes – they always manage to find their way to their destination – to breed a new generation of Penguins. They don’t always survive, however they all try.
If I say any more about March of the Penguins, I’ll spoil this for you. All I can say is that you are taking part in a journey that few humans will ever get to see – the things that these Penguins go through – attacks from Predators, attacks from the cold and the relationships between the members of the tribe are truly amazing and, some of the most touching and emotional things you will ever see.
March of the Penguins took the world by storm – amazing visuals combined with narration from the brilliant Morgan Freeman combine together to create a tremendous film that the entire family will enjoy. Highly recommended to rent – add this to your list now!
